The fairfax jazz festival is a walk-around,
multi-venue event,
featuring twenty-four great acts
on nine stages
in several of
Fairfax's coolest venues - including
Fairfax Park and your favorite clubs and cafes
...all within a 5 minute walk of each other.

At the start of a new century,
as we consider where jazz will go next,
it is appropriate to look back at the last century
to appreciate the framework for what is yet to come. 
At the Fourth Annual Fairfax Jazz Festival, on September 29-30,

The September 29th, Gala Opening Event
"Frank Sinatra... the Man and his Bands"
will be held at the Fairfax Pavilion. 
This event will feature the
Starduster Orchestra
     with vocalist Chuck Campagnet
and a special performance by
Jon Hendricks
with the
Larry Vuckovich, Harold Jones Octet
featuring Noel Jewkes

with a Guest Appearance by Aria Hendricks

















Jon Hendricks will conduct a Jazz Choir Work Shop
sponsored by the College of Marin.
This special event will take place at the Kenfield Campus,
located on Sir Frances Drake Blvd. 
All musicians and non-musicians are invited to attend. 
The Work Shop will take place from 4 to 6 p.m.
on Monday, October 1st. 
Admission is free.

Sir Francis Drake High School Music Program.

This year we will also donate a portion of our proceeds to the
Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. 
This money will be used to aid the victims of the
September 11th attack on
New York City and the Pentagon.
